The Louisiana Materials Design Alliance (LAMDA) consists of five institutions of higher education in Louisiana, and draws expertise from materials science, engineering, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics. LAMDA is administered through Louisiana EPSCoR, and supported by the National Science Foundation under Award No. OIA-1946231 and the Louisiana Board of Regents.
LAMDA Participants
LAMDA’s research program represents a convergence of machine learning (ML), experimental and computational materials science and engineering (MS&E), and additive manufacturing (AM) with a diverse team of researchers, post-docs, graduate students and undergraduate students.
Oversight of the project is provided by the National Science Foundation, and the Louisiana EPSCoR Committee. The LAMDA Project Management is provided by the LAMDA Leadership Team with representation from all campuses and major aspects of the project, Dr. Michael Khonsari, the Primary Investigator (PI), and Mrs. Jessica Patton, the Project Director (PD), and the co-PIs from each campus. Evaluation and assessment is a critical component of the LAMDA program, and has formed an Industry Advisory Board, External Review Board, and External Evaluator to provide advisement on all aspects of the project.
